We only include products that have been independently selected by Bustle's editorial team. Bustle caught up with Charles Gorra, founder and CEO of Rebag, to take a deep dive into the data and find out which bags will be trending in the new year. This year is predictably all about 2000s fashion, a trend we’ve seen reflected everywhere from the runway to the red carpet. A Louis Vuitton bag is now much more than the modern-day equivalent of the revolutionary trunk the Neverfull tote, Pochette Métis messenger bag and Keepall duffle are style trailblazers in their own right while coveted accessories such as shoes, belts and scarves ensure a sleek finishing touch to the label’s boundary-pushing ready-to.
Pulling from shopping data generated by that tool, Rebag releases an annual report about what items are selling and which are falling by the wayside. And in 2019, the brand made it official with the launch of Clair (Comprehensive Luxury Assessment Index for Resale), a tool designed to help buyers and sellers determine the current resale value for their most coveted luxury items. Rebag, one of the top resale sites for leather goods, watches, and jewelry, has been watching shopping trends wax and wane for almost a decade. Inspired by the runway, social media, and even television, handbag shoppers may reach for retro shapes or embrace neutral colors, all depending on what’s in style at the moment. Though designer handbag trends don’t fluctuate as much as, say, clothing, they do change from time to time.
